Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance is an important component of travel but many travelers overlook it.  Insurance can reimburse you for any unforeseen expenses including trip cancellation, trip delay, luggage delay and lost luggage, medical costs, etc.

As a professional travel advisor, it is my duty to advise my passengers to purchase travel insurance to protect their travel investment.  Travel insurance must be purchased within 24- 72 hours (and sometimes up to seven days) of the initial trip deposit/payment to cover any pre-existing medical conditions. As a travel professional, I can recommend and sell travel insurance, but I cannot advise you on policy information and coverage.  When I send you information, please look over your insurance quote(s) and coverage information carefully to choose the best policy for your needs.

Many travelers have some form of travel insurance with their credit card company, and if so, great! Please make certain your credit card covers all your travel plans.. Be sure the  insurance policy you purchase covers all your travel costs including airfare, cruise, tours, ground transportation, medical expenses, trip cancellation, trip delay, lost and damaged luggage, car rental, and vacation rental, etc, as needed.

I work with several travel insurance companies including Allianz, Travel Guard, and Travel Insured to provide the best rates and coverage for your needs.

Note:  If you decline travel insurance through Wander & Bloom Travel, you will be required to sign a waiver.

I have travel coverage with my credit card. Is that enough?

Credit cards can provide some coverage for your travel plans but it is important to review exactly what the credit card protection includes. Look for coverage limits for trip delay, trip interruption, and medical coverage, particularly for international trips, to make certain you have protection for your entire trip.

can you answer my travel insurance questions?

As a travel advisor, I can send you travel insurance information, quote pricing for travel insurance, and purchase a policy on your behalf. However, as I am not a licensed insurance agent, I am unable to advise on policy and coverage information. If you have question about various policy coverages, please reach out to the travel insurance company.

If I purchase travel insurance through you, can you fill out and submit insurance claims for me?

As your advisor I would be happy to provide you with purchase invoices and receipts to make an insurance claim but by law I am not permitted to file your claim for you.

Can you tell me which is the best insurance policy for my needs?

I can provide you with policy information and pricing for several major insurance companies but I am not permitted to advise you which is the best policy for your needs, only you can determine that.

When should I purchase travel insurance?

If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, including allergies, previous injuries, or medical conditions you take medication for, you should purchase travel insurance within 24-72 hours of your initial trip deposit or payment to receive pre-existing medical coverage. Terms vary depending on the type of policy and coverage you purchase.

If I don't purchase travel insurance from you, why do I have to sign a waiver?

My job is to provide you with the best travel experience possible, as well as to help you protect your travel investment. It will be my recommendation to purchase travel insurance for most travel itineraries. If, after reviewing travel insurance options, you decline my recommendation for travel protection, I must have your denial declaration on file.
